Who We Are
Eighth Continent is a civil/forensic engineering firm with over 19 years of professional experience, both in the private and public sector. We are focused on:
Determining the Cause and Origin of property damage,
Performing Premises Liability evaluations (i.e., building code compliance), and
Construction Defect evaluations.
We’ve performed over 1000 commercial and residential evaluations, across four states, including:
Breach of the building envelope (i.e., moisture intrusion),
Wind damage caused by natural disasters, such as hurricanes and tornados,
Structural damage evaluations,
Plumbing failures (e.g., water supply line and sanitary sewer leaks)
Premises Liability code compliance,
Construction defects (e.g., storm water and erosion control compliance (NPDES))
In our past life, we gathered over 12 years of design, construction, operation, and maintenance of underground utilities, such as domestic water, sanitary sewer, and storm water infrastructure. Our experience includes consulting at international airports, within the municipal right-of-way, and on private property.

Eighth Continent was born through a vision and lifestyle approach taught by my late father. He often bragged to me and my siblings about traveling to all eight continents. Being the wise kids that we were, we ridiculed dad for miscounting the number of continents; however, it was through our young adult years that his teachings began to take root. His message was to be open to more than what we knew or had experienced. He pressed that it was integrity and responsibility that allowed us to push our limits to places that we did not know existed, and he would seal this message with the firm notion of always doing right by those we serve.
Our approach to serving our clients is to offer dynamic problem solving and critical thinking while fostering the intrinsic human connection. I believe that this combination can unlock a new way of doing business where integrity, responsibility, and service become the vehicle of positive and successful experiences.
